Valdidentro is located in the Stelvio National Park area and is one of the best known Alta Valtellina resorts for both winter and summer holidays. Valdidentro is the perfect place to spend a family holiday with children.
In January 2011, Valdidentro became part of Alpine Pearls, a network of selected mountain resorts in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Slovenia that offer environmentally conscious holidays.
WINTER
The Valdidentro ski area is covered by 50 km of ski runs (25 km of cross-country skiing trails and 25 km of alpine skiing and snowboarding slopes.) Moreover, the resort offers several paths for the practice of ski touring and enchanting places waiting to be explored on snowshoes.
Valdidentro is a famous area to practice cross-country skiing. The “Viola” trail is characterized by tourist and racing circuits of several lengths and difficulty.
The ski area Cima Piazzi Happy Mountain/San Colombano is the perfect place to practice downhill skiing, snowboarding and ski touring; the ski area covers two sides of the mountain, both exposed to the sun and characterized by different gradients. It is composed of 20 slopes, 10 ski lifts and a new 8-seater cable car "Isolaccia Pian della Möta."
Valdidentro is also the well-known area for the practice of freeride skiing on fresh snow; helicopter tours are also available.
The Husky Village in Arnoga, only 7 km from Isolaccia, offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful tours with sled dogs. Discovering the magic of winter landscape and the silence of the woods while on a sledge pulled by a pack is an exciting experience.
SUMMER
Valdidentro offers several hiking and mountain biking opportunities to enjoy the beautiful mountains in the summer. The valleys Valle di Fraele and Cancano, Val Viola, Val Lia, Val Cardonè, Val Vezzola, Vallaccia (and many others) are the frequent destination of walks and hiking tours to discover the beauty of unpolluted nature.
Val Alpisella and Val Viola offer many paths and trails to practice mountain biking.
The Husky Village is open in summer too and offers the possibility to enjoy the mountains together with trained sled dogs that walk with people and make it easier to enjoy walks in the wood.
Nordic Walking is a new way to enjoy walks in the mountains with the help of sticks and people who love it will be happy to enjoy their favourite sport thanks to the many trails in the woods of Valdidentro.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Valdidentro is 8 km from Bormio, 29 km from Livigno and 21 km from Santa Caterina Valfurva.
The four ski areas of Alta Valtellina are connected thanks to an efficient bus transport service and a single ski pass that gives the option to ski on more than 225 km of ski slopes.
Bormio is the famous host of the most important alpine skiing World Cup races and a well-known thermal town.
Livigno is a duty-free shopping town, the right place to buy the best brands at the lowest prices.
Santa Caterina Valfurva is a small town in the heart of the Stelvio National Park; it is a well-known ski area and the exciting destination for hiking enthusiasts, thanks to its many mountain shelters.
